Does Tetnus injection cause swelling?!


Question: Does Tetnus injection cause swelling?
I am 4 months pregnant and about 2 days ago I had the Tetnus Injection . There is redness and swelling around the area and itching also. Is it normal , I am unable to contact my Doctor as she is mostly in the OT. Please guide.

No its not normal , Tetanus causes no such thing , the staff might have given you DPT , it comes similar way in an ampule & if someone keeps all types of vaccines at one place , this mistake can happen . So find this out or talk to a Pediatrician & ask him : if by mistake this has happened will it affect my baby . secondly a doctor which can not be contacted when you really need him , should be changed immediately . there should always be a way to communicate with ur doctor where ever he or she is . And do ask such question from ur doctor : how to at least ask her some thing in emergency.

yes its totally normal. my das had pain and swelling for 2 weeks so you might have that to look foward to! it is usually a shorter period of time so dont worry. it is different for eveyone

I know there is a shot that people are given and if it forms a bump it means you have it, i'm pretty sure it's a tetnus shot, I would definitely go the dr as soon as you can.
