Question: Is my blood pressure too high ?
I'm Male 38 years old , 6 ft 4 inches and 95kgs, I am slim and do exercise 2-3 times a week. My blood pressure was recently read at 180/90 is that OK ? I hadn't been exercising for the previous few hours when the reading was taken.

Your blood pressure is around Hypertension stage 2. The nominal blood pressure is 120 / 80.

Well if your loyal to your exercise routine, as you say your in great health, then infact your bp should be lower than normal. So it goes to say that you might have a bp problem. Two things cause bp and thats either high blood volume or low vascular space. If its the later, then thing of all the things that can make your vessels constrict like chemical unhealthy habits that you likely don't have or certain people who stress you out. If its the former, then we might be talking about a white cell or red cell cancer. In that way, where talking about a traffic jam in your vascular system. A CBC (complete blood cell count) is relatively easy to do to confirm this. These aren't the only 2 root causes but the reasons are always the same in that were talking about the mechanical conjestion of the blood vessals either in volume or space.

Adopt DASH diet (Mediterranean diet). Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet, which includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk, fish, vegetables, poultry, and egg whites. Use monounsaturated oils such as olive, peanut, and canola oils or polyunsaturated oils such as corn, safflower, soy, sunflower, cottonseed, and soybean oils. Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods.
