I'm 17, I THINK I have thrush...?!

Question: I'm 17, I THINK I have thrush...?
Well my symptoms are only redness and soreness down below, at either side of my vagina just under my bumcheeks, a few weeks ago I had severe itchyness but its away its only discomfort and redness now.. I am sexually active but have only had sex with 1 person, no STI's or anything.

I'm thinking its thrush, but im also thinking it could just be irritation from shaving?
If I had thrush would I not have more than just red/soreness?

Also, when your getting checked for thrush at the doctors do you need to take your pants off?

Thrush is usually associated with a pretty awful smell. It could be a topical yeast infection (yeast infection on the skin, not in the vagina). You can go to the doctor or you can pick up a yeast cream (like monostat) and spread that over the affected area. If that doesnt work within a week, you will want to see your OB

I am not sure whether or not it is irritation or thrush. It is better to see a doctor rather thank thinking about your problem whole day. And, if you see a doctor, you may take off your pants for examining your symptom exactly. However, you don't need to worry about too much. I had also similar problem with you, but I chose to see a doctor. That was why I disliked to lavish my precious time and to worry about too much. Cheer up! It aint problem.

Usually you'll have a discharge with thrush, something more unpleasant/unusual than normal. Sounds like shaving rash to me if you shave that intimately. But yes, an exam at docs would require laying back with your legs akimbo I'm afraid...But it's no big deal, they've seen it ALL before and you may as well get used to it for when we have regular 'smear tests' for cervical health. :)

With thrush the itch is so aggravating you know you have thrush.

i think it is just irritation and some of the times they more than likely will so they can discern if it is thrush or not
