Breast Cancer Survivors with mastectomy?!

Question: Breast Cancer Survivors with mastectomy?
Hello and thank your for responding. I am 44 and a survivor. In 2009 I had bilateral mastectomies. I have chosen not to have reconstruction and I do not use prosthetics or forms. I have been having trouble finding swimsuits and clothing that fits. I have done extensive internet searches and found 2 designers, but their collection is limited and not my taste.

I am not so much looking for advice on where to find clothing, though that would be helpful. What I am finding out is that I am either very much in the minority or women just aren't talking about "going flat" after cancer.

If anyone out there is in the same boat as I am and is willing to talk about it, I would appreciate your input. I hope I am not breaking the guidlines here since I am not technically asking a question, but I don't know where else to turn to find like minded women willing to talk about this.

Thank you.

Julieta is not a real person it is spam and I reported it. As a side note do not go to a website of anyone offering one without answering your question or telling you to use a drug – it is spam.

I am sorry I do not have the answer for you, but I can tell you that you are correct about being in the minority, most women do choose reconstruction at least since Medicare decided to pay for it many years ago. The only suggestion I have for you is to check for breast cancer survivor meeting at your local hospital and you may find others there who can help you. You should also call your local chapter of the American Cancer Society. They are a great resource for anything related to cancer. Best wishes.

I am a cancer registrar.
