Question: My son age 11 years is suffering from fever since 5days his CRP result is 49.7mg/l. What does it mean?
CRP is 49.7mg/l,
mild Hepatomegaly (in Ultrasound scan report),
Negative for Plasmodia(negative for Pan specific LDH,negative for Histidine rich protien 2 of P.Falciparum),
Malaria parasite by fluorescence technique(QBC) is not detected
and other related reports are normal.
What does it shows? Please suggest me.

Raju, the results now seem to indicate that your son is recovering from his P. vivax infection but all his systems need more time to return to completely normal numbers. C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is not a specific disease indicator. A physician will usually order a CRP level when your doctor suspects that a patient might be suffering from an inflammatory disorder (as with certain types of arthritis and autoimmune disorders or inflammatory bowel disease) or to check for the presence of infection. Malaria commonly causes inflammation and enlargement of the liver = the mild hepatomegaly he has. The disappearance of his fever is a good sign. The negative findings for P. falciparum parasites is excellent as that would be much worse, if not adequately treated. Sometimes, some medicines can also cause an elevated CRP level. As your son continues to recover, his CRP levels will return to normal numbers and you can both celebrate. Normal CRP values may vary from lab to lab. NEXT, India MUST re-examine to bring back DDT insecticide to kill the Anopheles mosquitoes, even if there is some questionable small risk to the environment.
