Breastfeeding mum had fever for 3 days - what should I do?!

Question: Breastfeeding mum had fever for 3 days - what should I do?
I've had a fever just about non stop for 3 days now and I'm not even starting to feel as though it is letting up. I'm taking paracetamol and ibuprofen alternately which was giving short term relief but it was coming back as soon as the tablets wore off. Today though although they've eased it a bit, they haven't got rid of it completely.

I've also been aching all over, had a head ache, feeling dizzy and like I'm going to pass out and mostly feel unable to move or eat. It's quite flu like except I haven't been vomiting and I've had the flu vaccination. Also my eldest son and partner were ill but only for a day & I have a clear head unlike with a cold or flu.

I had a baby 20 days ago and I'm worried there could be more to this than just what my family had. I thought of calling nhs direct but they say not to call with cold or flu symptoms.

Answers:

Wait two more days. Flus often causes fevers that last 3-4 days. The fact that the fever goes down when you take medicine means the infection is not creating any unusual risk. If you still have a fever at day 5, its possible that you have something other than the flu.

Go to the doctor the know for sure..it could be serious

nothing
