Travel insurance for breast cancer sufferer?!

Question: Travel insurance for breast cancer sufferer?
My sister has stage 4 breast cancer but is responding well to tamoxifen and zolodex. She is planning a trip to Canada this summer but is having real difficulty finding a company who will cover her. Can anyone suggest a british insurance company who will cover acancer sufferer.

Answers:

World First Travel Insurance will cover most medical conditions, they're not too expensive either. You can get a 10% discount on all World First policies through www.diabetictravelinsurance.com. Although this is a site aimed at those with diabetes, the link saving 10% is open to anyone who wishes to take advantage of the offer - give it a go, its free and easy to apply without obligation.

Hope she has a super trip to Canada, I've been there and loved it!

I know my mother was able to get travel insurance to visit friends in the USA (from Australia) with stage 4 breast cancer but it specifically excluded treatment for her cancer and cost a fortune!

It did include Dad's pre-existing heart condition, but only because he was under no treatment at the time.

Have you tried InsureCancer? They specialise in cover for a cancer sufferer.

Website: http://www.insurecancer.com/
Tel: 0125 278 0190 or 0845 649 0190

In Canada they will only insure things for which you are not under treatment and have not seen a doctor for in six months, apart from clear check ups.
