Question: My boyfriend says he has a rash above his crotch area?
I'm sorry this is going to be a little detailed but my boyfriend is very worried about this rash that he has. He had it since he was 12. and before he even had sex. its just a rash, no bumps and it does not itch or hurt. Today in school they were talking about herpes and he got scared and now he thinks he has them but i don't think he does. Hes going to go to the doctors soon but is there anyway to ease him down so he isn't stressed about it? Thanks

He would know if it was herpes, and if he's had the rash since before he became sexually active, it's not that. I hear that genital herpes is painful and causes blisters, not a rash. I would think it's simply some type of dermatological (skin) condition. I wouldn't be too worried about it if I were you guys, I'll bet it's something that can be easily treated with a topical ointment.
