Husband weezing when he runs...?!

Question: Husband weezing when he runs...?
He never had asthma as a kid, and used to run track in high school. He's been using an inhaler that his sister gave him... and when he runs he feels like he can't breathe. What could be wrong with him? He goes to army basic in 2 weeks. I'm worried.

First of all, it is possible to get asthma when you're older. He may have exercise induced asthma, which is asthma you get when you do exercise and are fine at other times. He should go to the doctor and get a physical. There are good tests to see if he has exercise induced asthma
see this link, http://www.chp.edu/CHP/Exercise+Induced+…
I know the website is about children but it's still good information about testing.

The answer to exercise induced asthma is to use the inhaler a few minutes before he starts to run. By the way, this inhaler should only be albuterol. (Pro-Air, Ventolin, Proventil are some brand names)

Just get a new husband, yours is obviously inferior.
