Question: Could I have trichomoniasis?

I feel like everytime I have sex with my husband, (we don't use condoms, he doesn't pull out, and I'm on birth control) I get a little irritated down there in the next few days to follow, along with a smell that kinda reminds me of mildew and I feel so embarassed, I feel like people can smell it! But it comes and goes, not just when we have sex; a couple times I've just had that same smell and it stays for a couple days. Could I have an STD? My husband did cheat on me once, we reconciled after a while, but all that part aside, what is the possibility of me having something?

well first of all Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis.

so now thats out the way...

some of the actual symptoms are

Discomfort with intercourse
Itching of the inner thighs
Vaginal discharge (thin, greenish-yellow, frothy or foamy)
Vaginal itching
Vulvar itching or swelling of the labia
Vaginal odor (foul or strong smell)

(so almost what you have descibed, are the symptoms of this parasite. is is best that you get yourself checked out by your doctor.)

also, clearly if you have it, and have not had sexual intercourse with anyone but your husband, since you "parted'" for that time, its very clear that you would have contracted it from him, so ask him if he has any of the following symptoms:

Burning after urination or ejaculation
Itching of urethra
Slight discharge from urethra

this parasite is very curable, and only antibiotics are needed.
