Do I have colon cancer???????? Scared out of my mind!?!

Question: Do I have colon cancer???????? Scared out of my mind!?
Back in mid october I went to the hospital for attempted suicide. I had convinced myself that I had colon cancer and that I was going to die. The reason I thought this was because I was having constant diarehha and when ever I didn't have diarehha my stools were very thin. There was no blood or anything like that. The doctors did a x-ray of my colon and abdomin etc and they said there was no tumor or polyp or anything like that, but they didn't tell me what the problem was. So I was releaved and went home without knowing what was wrong with me... Ever since then I've still had diarehha on and off and my stools are very thin all the time, like I very rarely have a normal looking stool anymore. And the day after valentines My stool was RED and I freaked out! My girlfriend told me to calm down because she used a buttload of red food coloring in these cupcakes that she made me so I didn't think anything of it. Then again on monday I have RED stools and diarehha. The day before I had hot wings and that morning I had some left over red velvet cake. My doctor assured me last month that it's not cancer because i'm very young and he feels no mass in my lower abdomin and such. My main question here is could colon cancer have developed since october? I'm 19 years old, there is no history of it in my family that I know of, but I have a very poor diet. Please help, I'm scared out of my mind and I can't take it anymore

It sounds a whole lot more like you need to relax. You are becoming a hypochondriac. Your stress is likely causing the diarrhea. You are probably a whole lot more likely to have a heart problem with your out of control stress and worry. Maybe see if your doctor can recommend a good counselor or psychologist to talk with ,you might be surprised at what they can do for you. Good luck.

No, it's either food coloring (not very likely) or fresh blood from fissures, fistulas or hemorrhoids...colon cancer results in "occult" blood (ie you cannot see it with your eyes!)

Get some exercise and eat better and you'll be fine...

See your doctor again.
Explain the problem and tell them you're worried.
Ask what they can offer in terms of scans etc.

Have faith in your doctors. Just do whatever they tell you to do.
