I think I have lung cancer?!


Question: I think I have lung cancer?
I keep having this pain in my chest on the right hand side. Although I can breathe properly, I'm SURE the pain is from my right lung. I used to chain smoke for years, and I am sure I have cancer. The problem is, although my doctor keeps sending me letters asking me to go for appointments with my piss in a bottle, I don't want to go, as I have a phobia of doctors, I guess. Doctors just make me so nervous because they keep watching me when I sit there, so I'm terrified of going. Do you think I could have lung cancer? I seem to have only one of the symptoms of lung cancer, but I just am certain it must be that, with the pain and the years I smoked roll up cigarettes constantly, ever find minutes. Please help. Can you people reassure me or something?

You want reassurance that you have lung cancer? Ok .If you are certain that you have lung cancer why are you posting this here? Go and see your physician and get looked at for whatever it is that is hurting you. If it is cancer then they can treat it but YOU have to go in and take the first step. The doctor's job is to "Look" at you so you just need to get over that little detail. The doctor needs to get a thorough examination of you to do his/her job. Cancer is scary but the sooner you get looked at the easier it will be to treat whatever it is that is ailing you. Good Luck.

Cancer Survivor-- I've had many doctors look me over--It's a good thing.

How long has the pain gone on? Are there other symptoms? Maybe its pneumonia or a pulled muscle...u can not know for sure its cancer. Could be a begnign cyst or something. Ask someone to make the appt for you, and to go with you. I know its scary.

You have to ask yourself. What is worse? Going to the doctor or dying. Get a grip. If it is cancer there is a chance it could be curable. Hopefully either way you will not die - but you will certainly stop smoking for good.

That pain on the right side does not necessarily means that you have cancer, but it certainty needs to be checked into it. Need to work on your Doctor's phobia, and go to an oncologist.
