When fasting, do you need to drink water?!

Question: When fasting, do you need to drink water?
I know when fasting you are not suppose to eat anything, but can you also fast without drinking anything either? I hope you can understand my question.

Answers:

A person can go without food for weeks, but if you go without water for even a few days, especially without the nutrients of food, it is EXTREMELY bad for your body. You are, of course, made up of 70% water.

You can fast without drinking water, but you can't go as long without water as you can without food. If you're fasting for blood work, you should drink water so that the lab can actually draw blood from you.

you can, but usually you stick with only water, and if you want to fast but are hypoglycemic or diabetic, some people choose to consume sugar water

My mom has diabetes and she says it's okay not to drink, but if she starts feeling not good at all, she has a little sip of water at a time.

While you fast you are allowed to drink water. You could get away with a bit of milk or juice too, but anything other than that isn't really fasting.

You can only drink water when you are fasting. You don't have to drink water but you should to stay hydrated.

No, I've been told that I can drink water just don't over do it.
