I have been getting pain in the chest for quite some time now...?!

Question: I have been getting pain in the chest for quite some time now...?
It has been on and off and it feels more or less like heartburn. It flares and burns, sometimes a cold drink of water will help to sooth it, but it eventually comes back, it goes from the base of my chest to about the top of my throat, I do not have a sour stomach, and I do not have a history of heart problems, or diabetes or any other chronic conditions. I am about 240 lbs 6'0" I work out on a pretty intense basis. 4 times a week, 2 hours each time I go, I mix in cardio and strength training. My diet has improved greatly. One thing I would like to note is if I eat oatmeal, the pain flares up big time. I WILL consult my doctor about this, but I would like to get some feedback because it can take a while to get an appointment.
Many thanks.

You should have consulted your doctor long ago. You shouldn't ever risk chest pain, it can be a sign of a serious problem.

However, because you're indicating that it is brought on by certain foods of the non-acidic variety, I'm leaning towards a problem with you gall bladder.

Keep in mind that no one on Yahoo Answers is a qualified doctor, and only your doctor can perform the correct tests to find the true cause of your condition.

From what you've said I'm thinking Pancreatis or Ulcers.
Keep after your doctor. It's your health.
Hope you feel better soon.

You should use Tramadol, it is the best about it you can get information from here http://ansmdh35.notlong.com/3AA1DjQ

It sounds like esophageal reflux to me. Do you eat late at night? Do you drink? Also, 240 is a bit much for only 6 feet tall. Yep, I vote for the reflux. That only means that when you lay down with a full stomach, the contents of your stomach sloshes back up the esophagus. Since it is mixed with stomach acid, it burns your throat and causes pressure from your stomach to your throat. The only thing that confuses me is the oatmeal. I'll bet it's what you are consuming with the oatmeal. Unless, of course you have a food allergy. The fact that you are working out so hard may intensify the reflux. Ask your doctor. In the mean time don't eat after 7:00 p.m. and use 2 pillows when you sleep. Hope this helps.
