Do I Have A Cancerous Tumor? Guide me through the steps!!?!

Question: Do I Have A Cancerous Tumor? Guide me through the steps!!?
There is a 1-2cm lump near my groin area and it has been there for about 4 days now. The shape of it is not circular but leaning toward the shape of a Rhombus, however without the sharp edges. Under the light, there is a dark tan hyper pigmentation color with red swollen look around it. The feel of it is hard compared to the rest of the soft tissues near the area and it does not move when i push it around. I've told my family about this lump and they think it may be a pimple. I however know my own body and am 85% sure it is not a pimple. (For it is too large) I've asked to contact the doctor but my parents are too busy with their own schedule. I am only 18 years old and do not have the experience and education to take initiative to contact the doctor. What are the next steps I should take? Where do i go? to the emergency room? to the doctor's office? and what must i do to ensure that this lump is not dangerous? should i demand a biopsy? As you can see, i am very confused. Is it possible to request a next-day examination of this lump or do i have to wait a couple weeks?

Answers:

Step-by-step.

Call Dr's office and ask for appointment, if asked why (often not asked) tell them you have developed a suspicious lump you want checked out.

The receptionist will give you an appointment date and time, could be same day but may not, depending on how busy the surgery is. You are not considered URGENT with a lump. Any time in the next 2 weeks is fine.

When you see the Dr, tell them you have a lump and for how long and get them to examine it.

They will then give an opinion. This could be a diagnosis or it may be a recommendation for more tests.

I suspect a swollen lymph node, which usually means you have an infection somewhere. If this is what they think after examination, they nwill generally try to find the site of the infection and give you some antibiotics if this is appropriate.

it sounds like you have a BUG BITE .....yawn....

if it hasn't changed in a few MONTHS ?.....THEN you see a doctor !!!!

Have you tried Hot compresses of Epsom salt? I have had these all my life and they start out hard, and then get soft. It is not a "Pimple" but it may be a Boil. (Mine grew to the size of a golfball, and I am now left with a gaping hole in my groin) You don't need an education to contact a doctor. Just pick up the phone and tell them you need an appointment. No biopsy is necessary, when they look at it, they will know what it is. Yes, you can go to the emergency room or you can call the doctor you have now.
You DO Have a doctor don't you? Well, tell them you need an appointment within the week because it is very important.
