I'm a red head, will i ever tan?!

Question: I'm a red head, will i ever tan?
Im going away for the first time in July. i've never had a tan in my life... tried sunbeds but burnt then few days later went back to my pale self. Thinking about tanning injections or tablets, in need of a tan and tanning lotion and spray tans go streaky on me. I do not want to be the pale gale on holiday!

Any suggestions?
OR
Advice from a pale, redhead, full face freakly person?

It saddens me that you want a tan so much that you would have injections...you need to face up to the fact that you probably wont ever tan, at least not at much as those with dark hair. You need to stop being careless towards UV rays otherwise you will get skin cancer. I am also a redhead and we (as well as pale blondes) have a much higher risk of developing the disease. Do some research into how a person tans and why we struggle to, it might make it easier to understand.

People wont think any less of you for being pale! Seeing you're a redhead, a lot of people understand that pale skin is part of the package and certainly wont look at you and think you never see sunlight. It's just your genetics!

In the eastern world, some cultures try to dye their tanned skin white because dark skin is seen as a sign of poverty where people have to work on farms in the blazing sun.

Pale is definitely a better look than lobster, so from one ginge to another, my advice is to:
buy the highest factor lotion you can get,
make sure it is always applied well while you're out in the sun,
and stay out of the direct sun during midday - you are still able to catch UV rays under shade!

I must sound like a nagging mum, I'm only 20, but I've been to two hot countries and you don't understand how much sunburn or sunstroke can ruin a holiday. If you are safe with your skin then you can enjoiy the heat, lap up the sun and enjoy your time away :)

If you need any more reassurance, do a little research into Nicola Roberts. I don't know where you are from but she is part of a successful UK girl group and has red hair and very pale. The industry made her feel pressured to be tanned so she did all she could to tan and looked ridiculous. Luckily that was just a phase and she now fully and publically embrases her paleness and has created a makeup range for pale people.

Please don't feel the need to be tanned, its just not worth the risk. If you really want one, just look into getting a decent spray tan. But make sure it will suit your skin tone first! Ginger hair and orange skin is just asking for trouble!

I'm a redhead

I don't see why you'd want to tan so much, because it'll wash you out(even if it stuck, you'll look like you're dipped in copper, because your skin color will get close to your hair color).

Just embrace your look, and enhance the dramatic contrast, of your red hair, and pale skin(it's incredibly sexy, if done right).

So you a ginger, cuz there's a difference between redhead and a ginger. I would doubt your gonna get ur skin changing effects from the uv rays try the tanning injection. I had a friend use the tablets and they did not work. She was a ginger too

Accept your lack of dark pigment cells. You will end up with damaged skin in the long run.
The only thing that really makes sense is going to a spa and having self-tanner applied. It won't look natural in the long run though. So don't overdo it.

sweetie you can spray tan and that works and you can get tan it just takes longer and you get more red use sun block but if you wanna get a quick tan go get a spray tan

Your not supposed to be tanned im very pale too and used to cake myself with tan to fit in with my friends now I don't care tan and it suits me better , embrace it your different :)

Go to your local salon and ask if they do cream tanning
It lasts longer than a spray tan
It looks streaky when it is first applied but after your first shower it looks amazing :')

you will not tan sadly D:

I have a friend same hair/skin type. you will just buuuuurn, but fair skin is lovely!
better than skin cancer huh?

Your not a red head , the proper term is Ginger
