Blood sugar is at 44 after eating a ton of candy?!

Question: Blood sugar is at 44 after eating a ton of candy?
I've been eating a lot of different types of candy, like orange slices, hard butterscotch, chocolate and about 5 different other types of candy. I've had candy in my mouth all day long for about a month. because I get bad cotton mouth from the pain medicine I've been on I eat candy for my mouth.
So I had blood taken on the 11th from one doctor of mine then the other blood work from a different doctor yesterday. They had to split it up for two different days they took the max amount of blood safely.
So the lab called my doctor today to call me to tell me my blood sugar is at a critical level of 44. And although I ate almost a whole bag of Werther's hard candy and a bag of peach rings and a cup of orange juice just the day before yesterdays blood work. I told that to my doctor's nurse and she told me just to keep eating to bring my blood sugar up.

But here is the other thing I feel like crap, lightheaded, loss of appetite, tired to the point I sleep all day, I slept 13 hours yesterday and was still tired so I went to bed early but woke up with stomach cramps and diarrhea which stopped since then but It's still hard to move around like usual since i'm so weak too. I figured it was because I am anemic and they took a lot of blood but should I be worried about the blood sugar and the way I am feeling?

As I type this I have juice in one hand and cookies that I am forcing myself to eat as well.
Oh and I am not diabetic nor is anyone in my family.

Advice?

Answers:

Hypoglycemia, my friend. That's below 'normal' levels of blood glucose (sugar). This is why you're feeling so light-headed, and generally "feel like crap."

I can almost guarantee that one of the blood samples your doctor took from you will be to test your glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c). This is a measure of your average blood glucose level over the previous 90 to 120 days ... the average life span of blood cells.

Once your doctor receives the results back from your blood tests, s/he will be in a position to decide where s/he should go from there. Don't expect an immediate diagnosis, further testing may be required.

some medications will cause the body to enter a diabetic state. I think you should talk to your doctor and not the nurse. they are the doctor for a reason, they understand the human body. a normal blood sugar should be between 80 and 100
