Is it likely that breast cancer will return in a woman over 70?!

Question: Is it likely that breast cancer will return in a woman over 70?
Answers:

The age of the patient is the tiniest piece of the puzzle to answer this question, there are so many other factors to be considered and you are not giving us any of that information.
In general the more years that pass since diagnosis without a recurrence the less likely a recurrence will be. However, it is not unusual to see a recurrence more than 20 years later.

EDIT: When it recurs it is nearly always to another part of the body.

I am a cancer registrar.

It depends on the individual case, particularly on what the stage of the breast cancer was when diagnosed. The lower the stage, the less chance the cancer will return.

The risk of a recurring cancer in another body parts for a woman over 70 ; is not higher than for a woman in her 30/ 40 ; its even less

That what a doctor told me

Yes it happened to my nanna, and yes also happened to my mum, she ended up getting brain tumors from all her treatment.

Family history of breast cancer

Nobody can really determine if breast cancer will return.
Not even a doctor.
I am going on my fourth year as a survivor & I pray to God it never returns.

Yes. There seems to be no rhyme or reason with recurrence. The best a survivor can do is just to get on with life.

You should use tamoxifen, it is the best about it you can get information from here http://ansmdh51.notlong.com/6AAMiJK
