Swelling in different joints?!

Question: Swelling in different joints?
I am a 24 yr old female who awoke in january with a swollen knee, went to doctor had it aspirated twice and told he couldnt find anything wrong..RA was negative and so was lupus.....Since then Ive had both knees swell and become painful, as well as my left elbow and right thumb....The swelling comes and goes but I noticed its worst when not moving joints for long periods.....Im sore in the mornings....I also get lightheaded at times and missed my period for this month.(im not pregnant, was tested) which is vey odd because Ive never had a missed period unless i was pregnant, I've been to the rheumatologist who had me checked for parvo virus-which was negative....I had the gardasil shot in November and he said he did some research and some patients experienced joint pain after the shot.....He feels whatever is wrong will resolve its self...but i dont believe that because he doesnt even know what it is..has anyone ever experienced this before? Any help would be useful, because Im at my wits end trying to figure this out.....And im sick of feeling like im falling apart and being in pain....

Answers:

There are lots of sero-negative arthritides as your rheumatologist should have taken the time to explain, even patients with RA can give a negative test. Do you have any family history of arthritic problems, or a personal history of psoriasis? Treatment needs in this case to be based on symptoms alone. If NSAIDs fail to control then steroids or even cytotoxic drugs may need to be tried.
