Strep Throat and Lodrane 24D?!
Question: Strep Throat and Lodrane 24D?
I was diagnosed with Strep throat today. The doctor prescribed amoxicillin and Lodrane 24D. I know what the amoxicillin is for, but I don't know what I was given Lodrane. The directions for Lodrane say to take 1 to 2 tablets as needed for congestion. But I told the doctor I wasn't congested, so I would like to think there was a different reason he prescribed this to me (like for pain?).
I just want to know if anyone has taken Lodrane for strep throat, but took it for reasons other than congestion.

The doc gave it to my son when he had tonsils removed to get the throat from getting irritated from coughing, even though he wasn't. It was a just in case.
