Should you wear earrings while scar tissue/boil in ear is healing?!

Question: Should you wear earrings while scar tissue/boil in ear is healing?
Ok, so I got my ears pierced about 3 months ago - 2nd earlobe piercing. About an hour ago I took my earrings out, as I still make sure they're clean, and I noticed a lump inside my left ear, kind of diagonal to the piercing (higher up but to the side of it) - it is not painful but it is rather firm. I did some research and found that it could be scar tissue or a boil. Because it bleeds (when I attempt to put my earring back in and end up poking it in the process) I believe it is a boil - it does not drain puss, so I have ruled out an abscess.
It is kind of late right now and I don't want to wake my mom over an earring issue, but I plan to ask to go to the doctor and mention my ear when I do, but for now my question is should I leave the earring in while I try to heal it, heal it as if it is a boil (warm compresses) that is. I have read that it will bleed but I want to keep my earring in, because there is still a chance of the hole closing. I do believe that I can keep it in, but I'd need to take it out to clean the blood (Ew, I know.) The obvious problem is dried blood will cause another problem.
Has anyone had this problem? What did you do?

Answers:

it is ok to keep your earring in. if your hole were to close, it could prevent drainage from coming out. also, it may not be a boil. keloids occur from injuries/trauma to the skin. they can occur after piercings too. it is a good idea to see a doctor - a dermatologist would be best. treating keloids early is more successful than treating older ones, as they can are often bigger and harder.
