Will the pennicillin im on protect me from my sisters mononucleosis?!

Question: Will the pennicillin im on protect me from my sisters mononucleosis?
I got my impacted wisdom teeth taken out two days ago. I have been on pennicillin for two days. My sister found out today she has mononucleosis. I am a diabetec type1 and cannot afford to get sick. Will the pennicillin protect me from mononucleosis? I know it is transmitted through saliva. Thanks in advance.

Answers:

Mononucleosis is a viral infection, so an antibiotic like Penicillin doesn't protect you - it was given to fight any bacteria that might have been introduced during the procedure, so that they don't form an infection.
You should take all normal precautions against becoming ill - wash hands regularly, don't share any food or beverages, get plenty of rest, etc. If you really don't want mono, it might be beneficial to stay away from your sister until you have fully recovered from having your wisdom teeth removed. She's already been able to spread the disease for days (at least), but if you don't already have it, you can take precautions so that you don't get it.
Keep in mind that a lot of people get mono without passing it to any family members. If you're being careful about illness, don't worry.

penecillin is to help your body to fight infection!! And why would you be transferring saliva with your sister ?? If your that bothered use different stuff from her
