How to take blood pressure.....?!?!

Question: How to take blood pressure.....?!?
So I have a blood pressure test in school tomorrow. I have to be able to take someone's blood pressure and my teacher will do the same. If my answer is close to his, I get 100. Otherwise, I get 0. I tried practicing today but it was difficult for me because I have a hearing problem. I told my teacher this and he said it's not his problem and I have to figure out a way to hear via the stethoscope.

So what is another way to take someone's blood pressure? My friend told me my best bet is to watch the needle bounce. Any advice on using needle bouncing for measuring blood pressure? I know it's not as accurate but that seems like my only choice as I cannot hear anything otherwise. thanks :)

Answers:

Actually, the "needle bounce" trick is pretty accurate. Try to practice it.

It's also pretty common for different operators to get different blood pressure readings, or for the same operator to get different readings from the same patient, a few minutes apart. (Not wildly different, though.)

Your teacher doesn't seem to understand this. Coupled with his attitude regarding your hearing problem, I have to conclude that he is a jerk.

When needle starts bouncing is Diastolic (first reading) and when stops is Systolic (2nd reading)
