Does a negative test at six months mean I do not have HIV?!

Question: Does a negative test at six months mean I do not have HIV?
Six months after exposure I got a negative oraquick HIV test. Am I okay? Even if my body has symptoms?

Answers:

You're fine. Testing 6 months after possible exposure will definitely tell you whether or not you have HIV. Your symptoms are being caused by another illness, or possibly by stress.

I do HIV education and testing.

Yes. A test at six months is definitive.
