Tried EVERYTHING. But it's been 9 years, and my acne still wont go away?!

Question: Tried EVERYTHING. But it's been 9 years, and my acne still wont go away?
Okay I have a horrible case of acne. I've been having acne for over 9 years now, but it has gotten a lot worse over the past year. (I'm 20 years old-female) It's all over my forehead, cheeks, and chin. In the past year I stopped getting my period for 5 months (I'm a virgin), and lost 15 pounds (I weigh 125 lbs at 5'5 now), which makes sense as to why it would get worse. I suffer from constipation as well, and have emotional imbalance. So I've been trying to solve all these issues, but the acne STILL won't go away. I've tried proactiv, pills, and pretty much everything out there. I eat extremely healthy, and drinks lots of water but I feel like there's no way I'll ever have clear skin. I seriously give up at this point and don't know what to do. Doctors aren't even suggesting anything anymore. :(

It's either Candida (google it, if you don't know what it is) and/or it's a certain nutritional deficiency...and yes, you can be the world's most healthiest eater and STILL have nutritional deficiencies, for a number of different reasons. for instance, people with digestion problems (like: constipation) have a hard time absorbing nutrients, because nutritional absorption takes place in the colon... where digestion problems come from! A deficiency in potassium, vitamin A, vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), and zinc CAN CAUSE ACNE! so make sure you get enough of these nutrients (you can always get your nutrient levels for these checked up at the doctors. they will take a blood test to determine if you lack any of them. just tell them which ones you want checked... and it's the nutrients that i have listed that you want checked. also side note: magnesium deficiencies cause constipation. and if you don't have enough probiotics in you, you can get constipated really easily! probiotics are found in most yogurts and can be also gotten from probiotic supplements, if you don't want to eat dairy because of acne. also, probiotics can also make vitamin B12 (i know, sounds weird but it's true. you can google it!!). and a vitamin B12 (and iron) deficiency can cause depression, loss or period (because you're anemic), stress, anxiety, and tiredness.... which you mentioned you were having emotional imbalances........ In summary, if i were you, i'd get my vitamin A, vitamin B6, potassium, zinc, vitamin B12, iron, and magnesium levels checked by the doctor or nurse! you might want to take a magnesium supplement daily and a vitamin B-complex supplement daily, to make sure you are getting all the B vitamins that you need and your magnesium. if the doctor/nurse tell you that you're very deficient in B12 and iron, you can get a vitamin B12 injection administered by the nurse/doctor (many people get them done!! including justin bieber and angelina jolie. they are really harmless and will make you feel better) and iron infusions once a year are also possible.

Personal experience and I research A LOT about nutrition on my own!!

Have you thought about laser treatments? The laser kills the bacteria in the pimple and the results are great..A lot of day spas are doing this now..just be sure you ask questions about their experience..I recommend a dermatologist..It is so worth it..

This is an excellent resource on understanding and treating acne.

Sometimes skin is a messenger not the problem. Your lack of a period for 5 months suggests a hormonal imbalance. If your hormones are even a little bit odd then you could expect to see severe acne, mood swings, weight changes, constipation and missing periods among other things. I would see your general practitioner or your ob/gyn and mention your acne in the context of having hormonal problems. A blood test (or preferably a spit test) will determine your hormonal levels. Then your doctor can prescribe either medications (such as the pill) or you can use bio-identical hormones to raise or lower the levels of hormones you need. Either option should be covered by insurance. Once the inside of you is taken care of the acne should go away entirely or perhaps you'll need hormones in combination with a medication, but this time it will work. Don't give up. I had from age 13 until age 25. Turns out it was my hormones! I have lovely skin now... :)
