How does water effect excema?!

Question: How does water effect excema?
My baby was just diagnosed with excema. We bathe him daily now as was recommended. I'm wondering if the water in our home may be contributing to his breakouts. We have city water which of course has different minerals and also is hard water. Would either of those be contributing? Would boiling the tap water fix this or would a water filtering system help, or do we need a water softener?

Thank you!

Answers:

Water can play havoc with eczema!.Have you tried a soap free cleanser?..Aquanil is gentle and safe and Cetaphil makes a great line of inexpensive cleansers and moisturizers for skin that reacts to soaps and water. When you do use water I think trying a simple water filter is a good idea..You sound like you are a great parent..I am so glad your baby has a loving parent that cares..like you..

That's odd... I have severe eczema and was told not to bathe every day as the water and soap etc dries out my skin and makes it 10* worse!
