What are the symptoms of BIPOLAR DISEASE in adults?!

Question: What are the symptoms of BIPOLAR DISEASE in adults?
Answers:

Bipolar disorder symptoms are mainly major mood swings from extreme highs (mania) to extreme lows (depression). Signs and symptoms of the depressive phase of bipolar disorder include recurring feelings of sadness, anxiety, guilt, anger, isolation, or hopelessness; disturbances in sleep and appetite; fatigue and loss of interest in usually enjoyable activities; problems concentrating; loneliness, self-loathing, apathy or indifference; depersonalization; irritability, chronic pain (with or without a known cause); lack of motivation. For the manic phase, people commonly experience an increase in energy and a decreased need for sleep, with many often getting as little as 3 or 4 hours of sleep per night, while others can go days without sleeping. A person may exhibit pressured speech, with thoughts experienced as racing. Attention span is low, and a person in a manic state may be easily distracted. Judgment may become impaired, and sufferers may go on spending sprees or engage in behavior that is quite abnormal for them. Their behavior may become aggressive, intolerant, or intrusive. People may feel out of control or unstoppable, or as if they have been "chosen" and are "on a special mission" or have other grandiose or delusional ideas.

Bipolar is a disorder not a disease. It's also known as manic depression. It basically means that the person with it switches from being very depressed to very happy (although not happy in the same way that a 'normal' person is happy). There isn't a middle ground, it's two extremes really. If you think you have it or know someone who you're concerned about, you should get in touch with a doctor. However, to be diagnosed you have to have been feeling this way for a long period of time. Lots of people have periods in their life when they feel sad, but it has to be ongoing to be recognised as depression.
