Heart beats are not in pairs?!

Question: Heart beats are not in pairs?
Hearts go lub dub or whatever you use, but one of mine is missing because my pulse on the wrist doesn't do this.
Why?
Do I need to see a doctor?

Answers:

The heart itself does a "lub dub". First beat the atriums, then the ventricles. But only the ventricular beat can be felt on the arteries, because the atrial beat only pushes blood forward in the heart and nowhere else. If you start feeling pairs of heartbeats in your wrist, go to a doc.

An irregular heart beat is not that uncommon. The other thing is that unless you have been trained to feel heartbeats then you might be missing them in your count. A new onset of an irregular heartbeat needs to be evaluated by a Dr. If there is any chest pan, sweating, lightheartedness, difficulty breathing then you should definitely go to the ER. You can also go tithe ER just to find out what it is. An ER visit for an irregular heart beat is not uncommon but often times can wait to see Dr. unless any other symptoms involved.

pulse isnt lub dub, but dub dub dub dub.
