allergic reaction or just normal?!

Question: Allergic reaction or just normal?

My dermatologist told me to use benzoyl Peroxide 8% creamy wash but every time I use it my face dries out, cracks/peels, burns, and turns red. I originally wanted to use proactive but I got this. Is this a side affect that it is working in a painful way or is there a chance I am allergic to this stuff?

The same thing happened to me wen the dermatologist gave it to me mines was about 1.5% though and I burned my face it turned red the dematoligest gold me stop using it because it was probably to high of a dose of benzoyle peroxide I used products b4 with it but it was only 0.05% and .8%
my dermatologist gave me a pill minocycline and he gave me a face cream called tazarac it worked perfectly for me

(I also used nuetrogena daily and bcuz of that it dried my skin which is normal I used cerave a face lotion it has no chemicals and it moisturizes ur face perfectly fine)
