I have a terrible itch in the back of my throat that makes me cough uncontrollab!

Question: I have a terrible itch in the back of my throat that makes me cough uncontrollably. What do I do?? ?
I have had this itch for weeks and I am only 13 I have no clue what to do. My parents have took me to the doctor several times and it has done nothing for me. I end up not being able to sleep. Right now it's a school night at 11 pm and I am suppose to be asleep, but I am woke by me coughing every mintue. It is very irritating. Does anyone else have this problem? I have tried cough medicines cough drops nasal sprays allergy medicines tea etc.. Please help!!

Do you think your cough is much worse at night specifically when you lay down? You might have asthma. You could have allergies as pollen season has started. If you had this for weeks it is less likely to be an infection. You should at least have a chest xray done if your cough has been occurring for a few weeks. Has your voice changed?

Try an allergy pill and see if it helps, i get that cough and the pill helps. I use claritin it's non drowsy.once i had a cough after a cold that wouldn't go away for weeks, went to doctor for antibiotics the cough went away in the first 2 days of taking it.i could finally sleep at night which was when i coughed the most.good luck.

Cough drops are usually helpful, but you have already tried that. Try apple cider vinegar mixed with honey. Gargle it for as long as you can and then spit it out. It tastes nasty but I promise the second you spit it out, your throat won't hurt. Good Luck!

I would have to say to put pure limon on a cup and drink it maybe that all stop it and take away all the germs
