Keflex and treating a yeast infection?!

Question: Keflex and treating a yeast infection?
I had a sinus infection, so my doctor put me on 10 days of Keflex. This caused a yeast infection. Should I wait until I am totally done with my anti biotics before treating the yeast infection? Will it just come back if I don't wait?

Answers:

Call you doctor for treatment of the yeast infection. It can be treated at the same time. Some times it will help when you are on an antibiotic to eat yogurt daily. That would be a yogurt that has live or active cultures in it. It will help to keep your healthy bacteria at a proper level so that the antibiotic doesn't kill it all off leaving you open to the yeast infection.

I am a nurse

You can treat them at the dame time. Antibiotics throw your body's normal bacteria off balance sometimes. They are two diffetent types of infection so they can be treated together. Make sure you do treat it because left untreated, it can lead to more serious reproductive problems and sterility.

complete your antibiotics and let your MD know about your symptoms. He/ She may prescribe you an antifungal to clear up the yeast infection.

There are better antibiotics than Keflex.
