My throat really hurts, I can't swallow, I can't even yawn without it !

Question: My throat really hurts, I can't swallow, I can't even yawn without it hurting, HELP ME PLEASE!!!?
On the first two days it was nothing, my throat just felt a little dry. The third day was when it struck, but it wasn't TOO bad, I was a little weak and it hurt kindof medium but I went to the doctors and he said it wasnt inflamed so it was a virus and that it would go in five or six days, he gave me some pills called naproxen and a spray called difflam which would kill the pain, but my body would have to deal with the disease. On the fourth day, I felt really weak. My throat was okay but my energy was right down low. Apparently, there was a little bit of pus on my tonsils but apart from that they seemed fine. On the the fifth day (today) , my throat was awful! My energy went right up but my throat apparently had green and yellow pus coming off, it was all red and enflamed, I can't breath with my mouth open because it hurts too much. we're going to the doctors again tommorow but I'd like to know ug anyoes had anything similar so that I might know what I'm in for. Thnx :3

Answers:

You may have to have your tonsils removed; it sounds like a serious infection. If he finds out it's bacterial (and it sounds like it is) antibiotics may be an option, but if they fail or the infection is too strong, your tonsils will have to be taken out. I've heard of many people who had to have their tonsils out, so it's not particularly drastic, from what I gather.

havent really heard of that before..... gurgle some saltwater?
maybe. a biology teacher suggested it to the class if we had a sore throat or something and that that plus other chemicals inside the sprays is what helps relieve some of the irritation. but yours seems a little more serious than a sore throat.. so im not sure.
