I have major anxiety that i will get leukemia now because i have a small reoccurring red bruise as few inched below my knee.. my dad said chances are i wont get it because she got it because she overdoesed.. Anytime i mention i want to get tested for something he calls me a hypochondriac.. im so scared.. i saw what my mom went through and i can even think of doing it my self..what do u think? If i get it will i pass away for it because my mom did? what are are my chances of beating the cancer? Also any suggestions on how to control anxiety attacks?

Is your entire family crazy?? Why would anyone say that to anyone let alone a child. Anxiety?? Prozac, zoloft, etc

Your dad is BS'ing you. You cannot get cancer from overdosing on pills and stuff. If you have a teacher or adult relative or friend (e.g. a friend's mom or dad), other than your dad you can trust and talk to, I would recommend that. Also, not all bruises are from leukemia. You may have burst a capillary (it happens) and can look like a bruise.

Not everyone dies as a result of having cancer. I had cancer 7 years ago. My sister had it 18 years ago and my dad had it too.
