Pleassee Answer!!!!! I'm scared!!!!!?!

Hi, you will NOT get a colonoscopy for celiac disease. What you get is an endoscopy, and that happens after the bloodwork to check your tTg, etc.
You would only get a colonoscopy if they are trying to rule out other things such as Chron's, Collagenous/microscopic colitis, etc.
About the endoscopy: as long as your doctor is up on the latest techniques, it will not be a big deal. They will give you meds to make you sleepy (in my case valium) and then Versed to knock you mostly out make you not remember a thing! (yeah!). The thing you need to know is to have TYLENOL (a non- NSAID) and your fav. herbal tea and lots and lots of honey to soothe your throat after the endoscopy since it is going to be a little sore (no worse than a sore throat). Other than that, it isn't really a big deal! (oh, and you will NOT go back to school that day, and it might make you burp/fart some because they put air in you to see better. So, no boyfriend in the room, okay?)
Oh, and when is totally dependent on your doctor's schedule... I didn't have one until almost 2 months after going gluten free, so basically it will happen when it happens : )
