Gym and HIV? please help! ?!

Question: Gym and HIV? please help! ?
Okay so I have like a phobia of catching HIV. I was at the gym and I started to use a medicine ball. When I looked down I saw a little bit of dried blood on it. It wasn't like too red it was red-orangish. I don't have any visible cuts in my hand. Around my nail cuticle the skin was peeling but no Blood. Can I still contract HIV IF the person had hiv. Plus it was dried up already? Please help me! Thanks oh and the medicine ball was a rubber type material!

Answers:

You can not get HIV that way. Once outside the body, HIV is extremely fragile. It dies within minutes when exposed to air. You absolutely can not get HIV from dried blood.

Also: HIV can not get through unbroken skin. Since you did not have any cuts or other open wounds, there would not have been any way for infection to occur.

I do HIV education and testing.

I don't know why you bother asking these questions, becaue you either don't read or don't accept the answer.

The only ways you can get HIV are by having sex with or sharing needles with someone who is already infected. Throwing a medicine ball doesn't involve having sex or injecting drugs, so you can't get HIV from it.

I strongly suggest you talk to someone about your obvious obsession with this.

now .... the chance of that person having HIV / unless you live in africa is ... 1/1000 i am Pretty sure, the chance that you had a cut you could not see on your hand ... is hmmm lets say 1/100 seems fair since you are so sure.... so the chance of you contracting HIV is .... 1/100.0000

i think you just want reinsurance from people that cant really reinsure you cuz they dont know the specific details and have not examined you hand ....... good luck tho ....

yahoo gramma checker = win .... pready* your hand*

I AM A PERSONAL TRAINER & A FITNESS INTSRUCTOR/COMPETITOROR. I simply hate when nasty people leave thier bodily fluids on a machine or excersice unit. it simply makes the compliminary towels "Moot".
#!: Go straight to thee OWNER of the club and show him the ickiness...
#2: politely (and I do mean thaat) ask the last person who left the fluid to wipe it off.
IF no one seems to give a da*m then either go to the top OR change gyms. I realize this may be the closest one to you;however, is it worth catching something that you will never get rid of???

Nope.

3 reasons.

1 Dried blood = Dead HIV/AIDS

2 The possibility of the person who bled on it even having HIV/AIDS is low

3 Your hands weren't bleeding...

Its actually pretttttyyyy hard to get HIV day-to-day

Once the fluids are dry then there is no way a virus can survive, so no you cannot get it.

thats an excelent phobia to have! u wont get hiv, but the best way to obstain is to stay virgin

you have OCD.
