When being immunized against the flu shot, the nurse injects antibodies, antigen!
Question: When being immunized against the flu shot, the nurse injects antibodies, antigens, both or neither?
Please explain, if possible.
Answers:
It injects a very small amount of a broken down pathogen into the body... the immune system recognizes the pathogen and makes antibodies. SO the next time you come in contact with the virus your body already has the antibodies to fight it.
that is a simplified version. :) hope it helped
None of the above.
The flu vaccine contains the protein layers of the predicted strains of flu for the current season. It is not the actual live virus.
I have a degree and worked in health care.
