I have had a chest infection and finished the course of tablets.?!
Question: I have had a chest infection and finished the course of tablets.?
Answers:
Ask the doctor, not the internet. Idiot.
it should have already gone. were you completely honest with the doctor a chest infection is brought on by a virus which means that if thats the case the a tank load of antibiotics will do absolutey nothing.
if its a bacterial infection then yeah it would clear it up but bacterial chest infections are not as common as the virus
if you do have the virus rather than the bacteria then you will just have to sit it out and rest drinking lots of fluids nothing else can be done.
whether it goes or not depends on your own immune system and if you are helping it fight the infection
sleep is the best cure
I'm actually in the exact same boat as you! I asked my doctor why she was prescribing me more anti biotics when they didn't work the first time, along with a nasal spray and she said the anti-biotics are just a precaution incase it is a bacterial infection (chest infection) but since she also prescribed the nasal spray she said it is most likely glandular and not actually IN the chest
I don't know what your previous antibiotics course consisted of, but if I were you I'd follow the doctor's orders. Please drink lots of water to speed up the cure, for that helps. Don't mix antibiotics with milk. And ...you're not smoking, are you? Get well soon!
