Is this really asthma?!

Question: Is this really asthma?
Symptoms: creaking in lower lungs, rattling/bubbling sounds in top lungs. I can even feel the creaking when I take a deep breath - it hurts to take a deep breath. Also tight and heavy chest; productive coughing, wheezing.

All that came within a day and a half of a scratchy throat and sinus issues.

The walk-in doc took one listen and said it was asthma. No spirometry test though. Gave me a bunch of puffers and oral steroids. Took one dose (20 mg).

Next day I got in to see my GP, since I was worried about those pills - she said to hold off on them unless the puffers don't work and to see her next week. She mentioned the wheezing but didn't say what I've got - I guess because this has got to clear first.

I get bronchitis at least three times a year. Started smoking regularly at 14, and I'm 35 now. Am in the process of quitting (day one!).

Answers:

i dont think its asthma cuz i have asthma and my symptoms r not at all like this. u may have beginning stages of copd like my grandmother. i highly recommend that u go to a specialist because they will take the time to fully evaluate ur lung and symptoms. good luck hun :)

if you really have an asthma, try herbal remedies at home. hope you can find this herbal plants.

(Glycyrrhiza glabra) Licorice has been traditionally used for the relief of asthma. Its action includes relieving and calming the airways. The licorice extract or root form can be used for teas or in combination with other remedies.

Roman chamomile (Matricaria recutita) Roman chamomile is a generally safe herb used to treat various ailments including asthma. Chamomile has two types: Roman chamomile and German chamomile. Generally, they both contain antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. The chamomile essential oil is applied on the chest as a rub, or chamomile flowers can be added in boiling water for steam inhalation.

Chronic bronchitis is something that happens to smokers. Instead of 3 times a year, you could be having it all the time. But what you have does sound like bronchitis.

Doctors frequently give inhalers to people with bronchitis (with or without asthma). It really helps getting the mucus out of your chest. You don't have to cough so hard when you have the inhaler.

It's asthma and or bronchitis.

Well as you are no doubt aware, smoking isn't going to do you any favours and the older you get the less the body can handle the toxins.
The fact a 35yr old gets bronchitis at least 3times a yr isn't a good sign either...again most likely linked to smoking.
If you get benefit from your inhalers then chances are its asthma.
Obvious answere; stop smoking, if symptoms still persist then either damage has already been done(COPD) or its another cause.
Hope this helps
