Can we give ciprofloxicin and levofloxicin together for treatment of intestinal !

Question: Can we give ciprofloxicin and levofloxicin together for treatment of intestinal infection?
My doctor has prescribed two antibiotics Ciprofloxicin and Levofloxicin for my intestinal infection, should i take these medicines as some one told me that they are same drugs.

Answers:

Honestly, I think there's been a mistake. Those drugs are way too similar. Double check with your doctor. Honestly, I'd consider a second opinion.

Anytime you ever have any question about any drug, you can go to www.drugs.com and search under the drug name. Cipro- and levofloxicin are not the same drugs, but you can read about the differences at the website.

Also, just because it's good to know: Any antibiotic, despite its necessity and its benefits, if you take it orally, it will along with killing the 'bad guys' in your gut, will also kill the good guys, the beneficial bacteria upon which digestion depends and which is the backbone of your immune system. The quicker you can replenish these probiotics, the more efficient and complete will be your digestion and the more robust will be your immune system. So be sure to eat lots of really good quality yogurt during and well after your course of antibiotics, or purchase a hight quality probiiotic supplement and take that after you are finished with the antibiotics.
