Early signs of breast cancer in males?!

Question: Early signs of breast cancer in males?
I'm concerned, because of this lump above my left nipple. The skin layers around the lump has been peeling off lately, and the lump has been here for about a month now. Is this common in most males? Or is this something I should worry about?

Answers:

Breast cancer in males is no different than females and there are no early warning signs this is why we do mammograms.
What you describe sounds nothing like cancer and if it were you would be the youngest male in history to have breast cancer.
If you are concerned see a doctor.

I am a cancer registrar.

1.Breast mass
2.Redness or scalling of the skin around the mass
3. Dimpling or puckering of the skin or nipple
4. Nipple discharge
5. Nipple retraction
6. Pain
7. Change in lymph nodes

Any or all of these symptoms bears further investigation. So you have at least 2 of these, I would get checked out ASAP. This is not common in most males and it is something you should definitely get checked out right away!

If you are over 50, you should have the lump checked. If you are a teenager...yes, this is normal.
