Should I take my inhaler?!

Question: Should I take my inhaler?
I've been having trouble breathing these past 2 weeks.
I get that feeling that I can't fulfill a breath.
I also had a sore throat.
I went to the doctor last Sunday and he gave me some Cephahexin and a Ventolin inhaler.
The Cephahexin is curing my sore throat.
I still have shortness of breath but I don't know if I should use the inhaler.
Do I only use the inhaler if I have an attack? Cause I don't get attacks. It's just sometimes I can't complete my breaths. Will I get dependant on the inhaler? Will the inhaler help my lungs breath again?
My doctor didn't give me a specific diagnosis or tell me if I had asthma, so I'm clueless as to what my problem is. :/
I'm probably gonna go to the doctor again this weekend but I just wanna clear up some things right now.

Answers:

Use the albuterol when you're having trouble breathing. If you can't complete your breaths, take the albuterol.

It will make your heart race and may make you dizzy. Don't panic if that happens. It is completely normal. It is not a reason to discontinue the medication, but if the dizziness is extereme, you may choose not to use the med.

The other drug is an antibiotic. Take it as prescribed, even if you start to feel better.

Edit: Albuterol is the generic name for Ventolin. I was referring to the Ventolin.
