what is serotonin syndrome?!

Question: What is serotonin syndrome?
my doctor says if i have too much antidepressant medication that I can get too much serotonin. i can still get depressive waves if triggered, so i don't know how i am in danger of getting some type of syndrome if the serotonin is not enough to counter waves of depression.

Answers:

Serotonin syndrome is a potentially life threatening and toxic drug reaction that causes the body to have too much serotonin, a chemical produced by nerve cells.
If untreated, it can cause:
- severe kidney damage
- uncontrolled muscle spasms
- muscle twitching
- excessive clumsiness and incoordination
- restlessness
- increased body temperature
- diarrhea
