Pealing and redness after chemical burn normal?!

Question: Pealing and redness after chemical burn normal?
Hi, I got burns via cooking oil 5 days ago, it blistered on the 3rd day and on the 4th day it popped on its own but now it started pealing and it looks wet pinkish on the inner skin, is this normal? Its so itchy. :( It this gonna repigment?

Answers:

I believe all these are normal for after burn. Blisters obviously occur after burn by hot fluid. Skin in those blisters is dead and has to fall off. Underneath, the healthy sking is growing and anything on top of that skin will peel off. Redness, and resulting itching are expected because of inflammatory process marking the death of superficial tissue and excess blood to the area to promote healing. There will be no hyper pigmentation in the spot. As for hypopigmentation it will be temporary unless the whole thickness of skin was damaged. If there is no ulceration that is oozing out fluid or having pus exudate then the deeper skin is safe and the area will re-pigment.

Burns may cause you to have blisters on the skin. It will usually resolve by itself, but your concern should be that your skin might be infected by bacteria.

Always maintain good hygiene, use antiseptic if possible. If your skin becomes more reddish than usual, or pus coming out of the wound, or you have fever, see a doctor immediately

it's just a 2nd degree burn. It's normal, just give it time to heal.
(for future reference, sunburn is 1st degree, blisters w/ sunburn are 2nd, to the muscle is 3rd, and to the bone is 4th.)
