Answers:

Breast cancer lumps are within the breast tissue - there's no redness and nothing to see.

At 22 your risk of breast cancer is extremely low - fewer than 0.1% of all those diagnosed with breast cancer are under 30.

Even in older women, most breast lumps aren't cancer - 80% of breast lumps considered suspicious enough for biopsy are found to be benign,

Pain is rarely a sign of breast cancer - most people diagnosed with breast cancer have felt no pain at all.

This sounds like skin condition of some kind - a boil, perhaps, or a bug bite.

Even those of us who've had breast cancer - and so are at greater risk - are advised to wait two weeks before seeing a doctor if we have any concerns like this; that way, if it's simply hormonal, it has a chance to settle down.

So - if it's still there in a week or so, see your doctor for reassurance.

EDIT: btw, the little flag under your question indicates that you're from the UK - it won't cost you a penny to see a doctor

Your question appears to have originated in the UK. You don't have National Health Insurance coverage??? In any case, breast cancer is unlikely at your age, so you should not be assuming that from the start. You need to get medical advice, not something from the Internet. No one here can tell you what the problem is with any accuracy. There has to be SOME access to health care for you. Charitable groups, medical schools, etc.

I wasn't going to answer this when I saw there were already 10 answers. Lo-Mcg is the best answer.
However, I have to address chemo angel. Please don't assume all breast cancers are painless. There is that small group, (I'm In and family) that do feel pain. I had very sharp pain where my tumor was as did my niece and sisters. No, it's not common and even my Dr said it wasn't a sign. Well for some it is and not all breast cancers begin in the ducts. Yes, mine did, but don't forget, where ever you have healthy cells and tissue, these mutated cells can go where they want'
I know you had breast cancer and usually give good answers which is why I want you to know that not everyone fits into that neat little package called "the norm" Blessings

It could be benign don't worry, my friend had a lump once and she was ok it was nothing. You should go to the docters though incase. (I can't believe you guys don't get help with medical if you don't have a job, I feel well lucky now that we have the nhs)

Don't worry yoursef too much, but go to the doctors to put your mind at ease, they'll probably have to do a scan - do you have savings, maybe you should get some insurance for this?

Good luck, hopefully you're fineee!!

It definitely could mean that - don't risk it, see a doctor! You can't put a price on you life! I can't imagine living in a country where i felt like a couldn't go to the doctor to see if i had cancer because it was too expensive...
I sincerely hope everything turns out okay but yes GO AND SEE A DOCTOR!

You should see if you can find a free clinic. There is usually free/charity medical services to be found if you know where to look. You shouldn't ignore this as it may be serious.

my friends mom has breast cancer - but survived because she got checked out right away.

breast cancer lumps are usually inside the breast tissue, and not red, nor are they painful, and 22 would be a very young age to get breast cancer.
so whatever it is, its highly unlikely to be cancer.

A red lump? then it is on the outside of the body? probably some type of infection and not breast cancer as breast cancer is a lump inside your breast and feels like a small egg - my sister is just recovering from breast cancer. Good Luck

I have had those from poor fitting bras under-wires poking/pinching etc. These red bumps/lumps are usually small localized infections called boils. Here is a wikipedia link with pictures and more info on them. Best wishes.

Don't just assume your health! Breasts are very sensitive organs. Please go for a medical examination and everything will be clarified. May God be there for you! Believe him & he 'll never forsake you.

Nope. Not at all. Sounds more like a normal cyst. BTW Just so you know, Breast Cancer does not hurt, and is deep within the ducts. Not Breast Cancer...
