Answers:

Brittany , don't panic . Lisinopril will cause dizziness . I suggest you get up very slowly , and lay down very slowly . Lisinopril is a wonder drug for high blood pressure , and the benefits far outweigh the negatives

I take it every morning , and the dizziness was scary . I spoke to my cardiologist , and he said it was a normal reaction , and he advised me that stressing out will only make it worse . He prescribed a small dose of Xanax , twice a day , and it really helps . P. S . I'm 14

You have low blood pressure (hypotension) or orthostatic hypotension. Low blood pressure, or hypotension, occurs when blood pressure during and after each heartbeat is much lower than usual. This means the heart, brain, and other parts of the body do not get enough blood.
Orthostatic hypotension — also called postural hypotension — is a form of low blood pressure that happens when you stand up from sitting or lying down. Orthostatic hypotension can make you feel dizzy or lightheaded, and maybe even faint. Orthostatic hypotension is not a disease but only a symptom.
Lisinopril is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It is used in combination with other medications to treat heart failure. Lisinopril is also used to improve survival after a heart attack. Lisinopril is in a class of medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It works by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.
Lisinopril can impair the function of the kidneys, and every person taking this medication should have their kidney function checked. Lisinopril may also cause dizziness (side effect).
Consult your doctor and adjust the dosage of your medicine if necessary.

You should go back to your doctor and get your BP and the dosage of your drug checked out.
It's possible that your blood pressure is not as well controlled as it should be.
Both high and low can cause extreme dizziness on standing just due to the difference in position.
However there are other things like a simple virus that could cause it.
So to be sure which it is go back and see the doctor again, meantime be careful when standing up from sitting or lying, do it in little stages to try and cut the dizziness down.
If you feel a lot worse you should consider ER as you are young and it is best to treat your body well now to avoid complications in later life.
Talk to your parents too and see what they think.
I hope you feel better soon.
