I keep throwing up, is there anything I can do to make it stop?!

Question: I keep throwing up, is there anything I can do to make it stop?
This morning at around six a.m. I woke feeling terrible and I've been throwing up every half an hour or so and I have diarrhea that is clear and completely liquid. I've tried taking small sips of water and I throw it up, I've tried sipping ginger ale and I still throw up, I even put some Ginger ale in a cup and making it fiat and sipping it. Is there anything I can do to make myself stop throwing up? Any advice is very much appreciated!

Answers:

hi,
you have a virus, possibly called 'Norwalk virus'. very common infection that makes you vomit and have diarrhea for about 48 hours, then you start to get better. the one thing you need to do is try to stay HYDRATED! try to take in plenty of fluids because this much vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration very quickly. keep drinking the flat gingeale if you can keep it down.

the only thing you can do is let the virus run its course. antibiotics dont work on viruses. ask whoever you live with to keep an eye on you and if you think youre getting too dehydrated, go to the emergency department of your local hospital

hope this helps :) get well honey!

BEEN THERE. always happens to me the day before new years literally it's like i know it's coming. I always think that i'm dying i swear but it all goes good at the end. Try gravol, and 7up. or even advil or Tylenol " extra strength " noT ALL at once ... pretty sure you're smart enough to know that but uhm yeah if that doersn't work you'll be fine the next day if not the next then the next next day so 2 days from today MAX.

If you got food poisoning/something that didn't agree with you let it take its course until it clears out of your system. But most likely you have a stomach flu because you mentioned vomit and diarrhea. Give another day and see if you feel better. If not, go to a doctor.

Stay hydrated & rest!
