coughed up blood today in school?!

Question: Coughed up blood today in school?

today before school started i went to the bathroom and i felt like i had a lougie in my mouth. i took a paper towel and spit it out. but, it was a chunk of blood. it was like phlemmy and really gross looking. i spit into the sink and that was also blood. i went to the nurse and they gave me a cup to spit into if i had to spit again. i never spit up blood again. im just wondering ....why would this happen? why would i cough up a chunk of blood?

Did you have a bloody nose yesterday? And is it coming from your lungs or just your throat?
Next time it happens try to decide where it came from. Has the weather in your area been dry or windy?

You'll have to go to the doctor and have a chest xray if this happens again. Especially if the blood is NOT coming from the back of your throat. Coming from your chest is more serious unless you've been coughing a lot lately.

im not sure, a lot of **** can do that. if this is the only time this happens. dont worry about it. but if it happens more than a couple times after this, you should go see a doctor.
