About Breast cancer in males?!

Question: About Breast cancer in males?
I am a boy, 19. I feel a lump in both of my breasts. Can boys have Breast Cancer? What are the symptoms? I first felt the lump when i was in class 6th i.e, around 9 years back. The lump has remained of the same size. No pain. No complexes. Help me out please.

Answers:

No, there has never, anywhere in the world, been a case of a teenage boy with breast cancer.

Men do develop breast cancer, but it's rare - fewer than 1% of all those diagnosed with breast cancer are male. And most of those few are over 60.

The youngest man ever to be diagnosed with breast cancer was 24. His case is known internationally because he is not only the youngest, but the youngest by a wide margin.

The chances of a female your age developing breast cancer are less than one in one million - that's less than half her chance of being struck by lightning. And fewer than 1% of those diagnosed are male - you do the maths.

The fact that what you describe is the same in both breasts would - if it were possible - make it even less likely that this was anything to worry about, as would the fact that the 'lumps' have been there unchanged for 9 years.

What you are describing is probably perfectly normal hormonal development. Mention your concern to your doctor at your next appointment so that s/he can reassure you. But stop worrying about breast cancer.

Yes men can get breast cancer. If you're not having any symptoms, especially since you've had the lump for many years, its probably just tough skin, some kind of a mole, or a cyst. Plus you're a bit young for breast cancer. It never hurts to go get it checked out though.

You can get breast cancer, have it checked out if you're worried

At your age this is very normal, and not a sign of Breast Cancer. Nothing to worry about.
