This is called ketosis pilaris. I have it and my daughter has it. I use a good moisturizer after every shower/bath. Lubriderm is good but since it's water based (I am pretty sure) it's not going to give you the moisturizing content that you need. You can try Eucerin or practically any other reasonably good moisturizing lotion. My arms are smooth now and have been ever since I moisturized them regularly. Hope that helps. Consistency is crucial. Patience also as it won't disappear overnight.

The other answerer is correct, only you should use a moisturizer that include an alpha hydroxy acid. This will break down the keratin and help smooth your skin. This is the advice I got from my dermatologist.

Skin rashes affect the skin and change its color and texture. Rashes can appear on the whole body or at certain areas in the body like on the neck, face, arm, and legs. Rashes show up as red, itchy or non-itchy swellings or spots. They may sting and even cause a burning sensation. The redness can be due to any reason such as a boil, heat, or allergy to foods and medication or insect bites. It is important to learn more about the causes before any medication is taken.

Are there any home remedies? There are a number of home remedies that will help heal these rashes. You can use yogurt to heal rashes formed due to excessive heat. Apply yogurt on the rash to cool the skin and reduce the itching. You can add a drop of lemon in the yogurt and apply it to clean the affected area. Even if the rashes are due to any allergy, yogurt helps in healing the rashes. You can also consume lots of unsweetened and unflavored yogurt.

Drink plenty of buttermilk with onions to cool the body and heal it from within. Butter milk is effective in healing rashes formed due to food allergies. Some foods like sea foods can cause allergies in some people, as these foods increase the body’s `heat’. The rashes will disappear in a few days. To clear rashes you can boil a few neem leaves with a pinch of turmeric. Strain and use the water to cleanse the affected area. You can prepare more of this medicated water and use it for a bath. Apply one teaspoon of turmeric powder mixed with yogurt on the rashes to heal them. You can apply aloe vera gel or pulp on the rashes to heal them and revive the skin. Olive oil is an excellent restorative for treating rashes. Apply oil on affected area to penetrate the skin and cure it. You can apply baking soda on the skin and press the skin softly with your hand to ease the itching and stop it from spreading. You may blend 10-15holy basil leaves with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 garlic cloves, salt and pepper. Apply this paste on the rashes. You can try sandal wood powder to heal the rashes. Sandal wood cools the skin and smoothen the skin. Try applying on a sample area to see if you are allergic to sandal wood. Increase the intake of citrus fruits, foods rich in vitamin C and that which will cool your body and not trigger a breakout of rashes.

In order to know the best way to deal with your red spots, it is important to know where you have these spots and why you have developed them. Please do note that if they have been around for more than a couple of weeks, you need to get yourself medically examined to determine what exactly they are and why you are suffering from them. A doctor will also take into account other things such as whether or not they are accompanied with any kind of burning, itching or other such irritation, and whether you have made any recent changes to your lifestyle or eating habits which could have led to this happening. It is important to understand that all of this information in important in figuring out why you are having these red spots and what you can do about them as well. The reason for the red spots could be anything from heat boils and prickly heat to an allergic reaction to some sort of food you may have eaten somewhere.

Assuming that you are suffering from heat rash or boils, there are a couple of things you can do to ease yourself. Applying cool yogurt to your red spots will go a long way towards easing any itching that you may be feeling. This will also help to cure them, particularly if they are caused due to some allergic reaction. You can also add a few drops of lime juice to the yogurt to sanitize the area and prevent from catching any further infection of sorts. If this is caused by excessive heat, even then, yogurt will help you. You must also make it a point to eat and drink lots of plain, unsweetened and unflavored yogurt as this will also go a long way towards healing you from within.
