why type 2 diabetics are overweight and type 1 underweight?!

Question: Why type 2 diabetics are overweight and type 1 underweight?
Answers:

Simple answer:

Type one diabetics need insulin to process sugars for energy. They don't make their own insulin, and therefore have to inject it. Before a type one is diagnosed, their body is essentially starving, and breaks down all the fat and muscle to try and get energy. On top of that, any foods they eat are being broken down, and the sugar is sent to the blood, but the sugar isn't being used by the cells, so they have high blood sugar. Many people go into diabetic seizures when they first become type 1 diabetic. Having super high blood sugar is very very bad for your body.

Type two diabetics still produce some insulin, but they can't use it very well. Their body feels like its starving, so type 2's feel super hungry all the time. Since the body can still process sugars (just at a greatly reduced rate) the body starts to store up everything it can for emergencies. So a feeling of starvation which induces eating plus the body trying to get energy makes their gain weight.

Of course this is not always the case. For example I am a thin type 2 diabetic. Most likely because the disease was caught early, before I started to gain a ton of weight.

weight gain by itself does not cause diabetes. It has to do with a person's genes. There are lots of fat people who aren't diabetic, and lots of thin people who are. Also if a fat person with diabetes loses weight, they will still be diabetic, even if they are thin.

Its because type 2 diabetes usually comes from eating too much sugar. This is why people tend to be bigger. Type one diabetes are people who are simply born with it. They could eat really healthy and everything, but still have it. Its not their fault and often times in type 2 it is. Sometimes however certain people have greater risks because of their family history.

Type 1 diabetics are usually slimmer, not only because they are born with the disease but also because they have more incidents of balancing their blood sugar and their intake of food. Many have difficulties controlling their diabetes and frequently end up being hospitalized with related illnesses. They are faced with a compromised immune systems
